Bio-object Exercise

Reflection

The object I chose within the performance was, plastic sheets, this was chosen because the initial idea was to find objects that resembled heavy and light. I had concluded that a plastic sheet would be good to use as the heavy object because it can be very misleading, because water can look very calming but underneath it can be very dangerous and can drag you under at any point when the water becomes choppy (in a sense the water becomes angry)  Also, the plastic sheets were used as water and waves this was a good idea because the way you move the plastic sheets symbolises the way the sea moves. I performed this way to be able to show frustration from the water (plastic sheet) as the box wouldn’t come towards me, I was getting frustrated I demonstrated this by making the sea look choppy and rough, to scare the box but to also frighten the box enough so it felt like it had no choice but to come towards me.  My object was used to create a story of deceit throughout the performance, the element of having the waves is to show deceit because you look at the sea and it’s so calming and beautiful, then within this story there is a storm and the sea and waves start getting choppy and dangerous, this shows that you can be tricked by the beauty of something and then all of a sudden it can deceive you. At the end of this the box gets taken by the sea. (plastic sheet)
